✨ Our suggestion

From my experience, the most complete and engaging event – especially for children – is Christmas World Rome 2025 – Villa Borghese. It is large, rich in attractions, sets, shows, music and immersive areas that both kids and adults love.

Downsides: it is very crowded on weekends and in the days just before Christmas (when schools close and many tourists arrive).

👉 Tip: go in the morning to avoid queues and crowds.

👉 Prefer the magic of Christmas lights at night? Choose weekdays in the evening.

👉 Practical tip: dress warmly – Villa Borghese is very humid and it feels even colder at sunset.

🎡 Christmas World Rome 2025 – Villa Borghese

Christmas World Rome 2025 returns to Villa Borghese, transforming one of the most iconic parks in the capital into a large immersive Christmas trail. The event offers spectacular scenography, light installations, themed villages dedicated to Christmas traditions from different countries and many activities for adults and children.

The 2025 edition introduces new settings, live shows, roaming performances, family-friendly areas and a large international market where you can buy Christmas decorations, handicrafts and food specialities. Christmas World is ideal if you want to enjoy a Christmas full of atmosphere, take beautiful photos, join children’s workshops, taste international street food and spend a few hours in a carefully curated and accessible environment. 🎅 EUR Christmas 2025 – Christmas Village at EUR

The EUR district is once again in 2025 one of the most atmospheric places to enjoy Christmas in Rome, thanks to Christmas markets, lights, street food and family activities. The big news is the Roma Eye, the largest Ferris wheel ever installed in the city: 50 metres high in Viale Oceania, part of the “Natale Diffuso” project. From here you can enjoy a spectacular view over the district and the dome of Santi Pietro e Paolo.

On 8 December the official opening of Christmas at EUR will take place, with the lighting of the Roma Eye, the large Christmas tree on the steps of Viale Europa and the illuminations on the Basilica of Santi Pietro e Paolo.

In addition to the Ferris wheel, EUR Christmas 2025 will offer Christmas markets with crafts and handmade products, food stands and street food, light installations, photo spots, events and children’s workshops. The atmosphere is elegant, modern and easy to reach, ideal for families, couples and anyone who loves photos and social content.

EUR Christmas 2025 is a must if you are looking for a different kind of Christmas away from the historic centre, with iconic attractions, creative shopping and one of the most beautiful views of Rome during the holiday season.
It’s easy to reach if you stay in one of our apartments, thanks to the proximity of all our properties to the main Rome Metro lines.

🎁 Giftland – Creative Christmas Market (San Paolo)

Giftland is one of the most original Christmas events in Rome: a large creative Christmas market hosted inside San Paolo District in the San Paolo neighbourhood. The event brings together illustrators, independent designers, modern artisans and small brands offering contemporary, creative and often sustainable gift ideas. The exhibitors’ selection focuses on quality, original products: design pieces, illustrations, home decor, creative accessories, vintage collections and handmade projects that you don’t usually find in the most touristy Christmas markets in Rome.

The industrial setting of San Paolo District creates a lively and curated atmosphere, with pathways guiding you among stands, installations and small thematic areas. In addition to the exhibition area, there are food zones and spaces for short activities and workshops, also suitable for children.

Thanks to its strategic location, easily accessible by Metro B – San Paolo station, Giftland is a perfect stop for those looking for a different Christmas in Rome: more creative and inspiring, discovering emerging artisans and artists in the heart of Rome South. It’s also very easy to reach if you stay in our Testaccio apartment, thanks to the direct Metro B connection.

✨ Our suggestion

If you want to take your time and avoid the cold, this place is truly ideal. All stands offer unique pieces – many handmade – vintage clothing, carefully selected books for children and adults, and non-touristy objects.

There aren’t many seats, except for the play area for children, where they also organise small workshops. Giftland is entirely indoors (6000 m²), inside the San Paolo District (former ATAC depot). Perfect for: a hot chocolate, sheltering from the cold and doing creative, non-touristy Christmas shopping in Rome.

My son had a great time last year: well-designed children’s activities and a really pleasant atmosphere.

🚇 How to get there

Metro B → San Paolo, 10 minutes on foot.
San Paolo District – mini guide to the area:

A lively area full of bars and restaurants, close to the Basilica of San Paolo Fuori le Mura. Perfect to combine the Christmas market + a cultural stop + dinner.

🎄 Viterbo Christmas Village

📅 16 November – 6 January

Fairytale medieval setting → nativity scenes, toy factory, lights, ice rink.
✨ Our suggestion: if you want a spectacular day trip from Rome, Viterbo is a beautiful medieval town all year round, but it becomes truly magical during the Christmas period.

🤶 Il Regno di Babbo Natale – Vetralla

Enchanted forest, magic tunnel, ice rink, elves’ village. Perfect also on rainy days, because many areas are covered.

🏰 Castello di Babbo Natale – Lunghezza

Interactive trail in a real castle → shows, characters, themed rooms. Perfect for children aged 3–10 years.
